I don't know what the restriction sign is but click Start and Run and type CHARMAP and press enter. Find the character you want and click on it. At the bottom right you will see the Alt+#### to type (on the keypad while you hold down the Alt key).
I think you mean the Registered Trademark sign. ® (Alt+0174). © is Alt+0169. In Word you can usually type (c) and (r) and it will automatically change them to the single character.

Copyright: alt+0169
Registered: alt+0174
Trademark: alt+0153
The following site has a few others, but I've seen more complete lists: http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/codealt.html
Really, it's not hard to search for these things. To the rest of you, if you don't know, why bother answering?

In MS Office, if you put a c in parentheses like this (c) it automatically turns into the copyright symbol, like when you type :) and it turns into the smiley icon. (r) does the other one.
OR, hit "Insert" from the top menu bar, then "Symbol" then search thru that list for the one you want.
