I would need more information... what do you mean by sickly?? like she is throwing up?? If she is bottle fed she is more then likely eating to much and it is coming up in large amounts.

This happened to my son when he was first born as well... although I did breastfeed, but I asked a lactation specialist and she said it was because he was overeating (even on the breast)... spit up has come out of my sons nose as well...

Babies esophogus and eating style make it hard for them to full on choke on something, I wouldn't worry if I were you...Unless she has a temperature!

What everyone else said. She should be burped after every 2 ounces, My daughter is 6 months old, when she was born she was a very petite 8 lbs 1 oz, and she used to do this also. The put her on Infimil lactose free, and also told me to keep her in a semi upright position at least 30 minutes after she has ate. Try this a few times, but make sure and tell the Pediatrician. Good Luck

No, it is not "normal". Just because others' babies have experienced this that does not make it normal. It does not, however, appear to be any kind of emergency.
Still, I would make an appt. w/ the pediatrician soon. It can't be any more pleasant for a baby than it is for you to have an upset belly.
Congrats on the new babe!

You need to call your daughter's pediatrician. She is of good weight, but may have reflux and/or the formula (I am assuming you are feeding formula to her) is not digesting well.

do you burp your baby after a feeding? you should always put a baby over your shoulders and pat her on the back until she burps. she cannot burp by herself at that age and then the food comes right back up when you lay her down.

Could also be that she is intolerant to milk, I would check with your pediatrician. Usually they tell you as long as they are gaining weight it's normal. Are you breast or bottle feeding?

It sounds like reflux. I would let the doctor know. It may not be, some babies are just spitters.
