so an update on my hand. I bruised it about two weeks ago by hitting it on a pole...and nothing has really improved. Do bruises last 2 weeks?? The bone also feels it has risen up more than it does in my other hand.

Is this normal or does anyone know what exactly happend to my hand?

Bruises can last two weeks. However, there are so many small bones in the hand, that it can be pretty easy to break one. My ex husband fractured one of the bones in his hand, and he didn't realize it was broken until it wasn't healing well a week later and still hurt. It would be a good idea to see your primary care physican to get x-rays, and just make sure that nothing is broken.
Hope this helps!
Meanwhile, you might try heat packs if it still is hurting you.

Edit: I read what you added to your question.
It's possible that you just severely sprained your hand. How much pain are you in? Can you move the hand/fingers through the full range of motion?
No one can know exactly what happened to your hand without examining it, unfortunately.
You might try using heat packs and OTC pain relievers to relieve any pain or tenderness.
If the pain doesn't go away, then it would be a really good idea to talk to your parents and see if you can't convince them to take you to the doctor's.
Hope that helps!

Did you get an x-ray to be certain that you did not break any bones? The bones of the hands and feet are small; however, they, too, can break. If there is not improved healing, there may also be other factors to consider. You could feasibly be suffering from a type of diabetes melitus which affects the rate of healing. Also, since you mentioned that the bone feels displaced, you may have dislodged the bone and it is preventing it from healing.
Seek medical attention as soon as possible...it may have to be set in a cast to prevent further damage. If it is your preference hand (i.e. right handed), it could sustain nerve damage due to the impact of the injury coupled with slow healing rate. You do not want to risk the loss of use of your hand and complications with your manual dexterity ability. Go to the Emergency Room or your private physician and request an x-ray.

Well it sounds like to me you could of possibly got a fracture in your hand. Only an Xray will show that. Tell your parents that you think you may have hurt it more than just a bruise. If they don't want you to go, than get an Aunt or someone to take you. Thats pretty lame for your folks not wanting you to go have it checked, especially if its still hurting 2 wks later. Demand it. Good luck kid.

Bruises can last a long time. As far as the raised area goes it could be a calcium build up where your hand is healing or a blood clot from the injury. If you injured a tendon or ligament it could take 6 weeks for it to start feeling better.
