They all rust, even the stainless because the iron in the water gets on the stainless and that is what starts it. Ever seen rusty PVC, well it wasn't from the plastic. A simple test is to lay a piece of rusty steel on a piece of stainless and get them both wet. Then in a few days there will be rust on the stainless because the iron has transferred onto the stainless. Those that say stainless steel won't rust have limited knowledge of metals.

SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS ARE MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL.THEY DO NOT RUST. THE ONLY THING IN YOUR WELL THAT WILL RUST IS THE CASING NEAR WATER LEVEL AND GALVINIZED DROP PIPE. AS THE WATER "CHANGES" IT GETS THE PIPPE WET AND THE AIR IN THE CASING RUSTS IT UP.GOULDS AND JACUZZI PUMPS ARE CHEAP. THE BEST PUMP ON THE MARKET IS A GRUNDFOS.

The best pumps are Goulds and Jacuzzi, which generally can be picked up at plumbing supply houses.

Most of them don't. Check your local supplier - and don't be cheap about it.
