if there was actual radiation coming from your laptop, then I would suppose it WOULD be dangerous..
But since there isn't.. I'm sure you are fine.
they DO emit low level electronic fields.. and if you (or your family) are worried about that.. you may want to think about the TV, radio, and while your at it.. your house...
I'm being a smart aleck here, of course.
Your family members are incorrect, it is perfectly safe to use a laptop in the same room as your child.

Nope, you get comparable radiation from microwaves, mobiles, toasters, TV, DVD etc. If it were harmful then all the stuff in your house added up would be dangerous.
Only certain radiation is bad, most is normal and doesn't affect us.

radiation in computer hardware was restricted in the late 90's
because if damage by radiation was done to any one, they can sue sue sue

Its not a lot to worry about. You might to get slighlty worried if you have a wireless network at home, but solong as the router isn't in the same room I guess your ok.

yes radiation is harmfull for anybody in this case you thought about it how much it will dangerous for a little baby.you heard about mobile radiation.it can cause of different disease related your heart,your skin ,and your capacity of sex.
