Should I take it personal when my mother tells me how much weigth she thinks I need to lose every time she sees me which is often? I do take it personal, but enough is enough. I yelled at the top of my lungs today because i know i need to lose weight. Its like when you have a zit on your face and someone says "hey, did you know you have a big zit" duh, she just doesnt understand that I realize i am chubby and I want to lose the weight, but she just won't stop hounding me :(, which makes me real depressed. Telling her how i feel still doesn't help the situation at hand!

I know how you feel. I have told my mother the same thing for a long time and she persists. Luckily, I am old enough to stay away from her so that she doesn't bother me too much about it. I wish I could give you some advice, sweety because I know how aggravating and annoying it can be. I have had to deal with it for a long time. And maybe I am overweight because she doesn;t shut the hell up about it, that's what I think sometimes. I feel as though if I lost the weight and she told me how good I looked because I lost weight, it would tick me off and make me want to gain the weight right back just to spite her. I hate it SOOOOOO much when she does that. I wish she could just understand!!!!

I hope you get some sound advice from someone, because God knows, I need some too.

Good Luck and God Bless

Does your mom know that if she keeps pressuring you the way she does, she could actually make you gain weight? When I was a kid I was quite chubby, and all the other kids made sure I knew that. They would say stuff like,"Here comes Queen Mary". I would go home and eat until I couldn't eat any more.
Your mom needs to be more encouraging and supportive of you. Maybe instead of her telling you that you need to lose weight, the both of you could go on walks together for 30 minutes a day. Or you could just tell her that you don't want to discuss the weight issue ever again.

i know ur mom is being very pressy but that might be just because she really cares abt you so you don't have to be very agressive while telling her that it hurts you just be kind and explain to her that you have the right to choose when u want to loose weight so u do have the right to tell her that her talk hurts u but u can tell her that without screeming it would make u feel even better when u sit with her and tell her that what she is saying is causing u pain because in that way she will be more willing to understand and listen to what u say

You have every right to feel the way you do. Tell her to worry about her own self and to let you be. You will lose the weight when you are ready. Her pressuring you isn't going to make it happen.

For 18 years or so, my grandmother -- whom I love dearly -- told me every time she saw me that I was getting a big butt. I was a strong, healthy girl with a nice booty, but it still kind of hurt. Now that I'm older, stronger and healthier, and have lost all my baby fat, she says I'm too thin. Sometimes, you just have to ignore it.

My mom does the same thing to me sometimes. I deal with it, even if at times I get mad at her. I believe she thinks being more skinny would make me feel better about myself, although she doesn't realize that's definitely not the way to break it down to me. You´ll just have to learn to control your rage...being mad at her won't change your mothers mentality.
