I lived in Naples Italy for two years. My X is military. I'm white with Italian blood, so I'm only going by what black Americans I knew while stationed there. Most of them enjoyed being in Italy, but a few of the black American females had Italian guys trying to pick them up thinking they were prostitutes. The reason? This happened because alot of African women move out of Africa into Europe and end becoming prostitutes, so some of the Italian men will automatically think they are prostitutes just because of their skin color. Other than that, I haven't heard any complaints.

In Japan I had noticed it was mostly the older generations (World World II generation mostly), but it was the whole idea of Americans being in their country, not just blacks. I had noticed that a lot of the Japanese teens were trying to imitate the Rap culture, which is mostly black.

Well in western Europe, where I am from, sadly I don't think they are treated very well. Immigration is a fairly new thing here and there are many immigrants coming over from Nigeria to find better lives but frankly a lot of them are being treated like sh*t. However I think the accent plays a big part, if you have an American, Canadian etc... accent you will not be treated any different really because it's mostly Africans that people seem to have a problem with, but there are racist pr*cks everywhere! (I wish it was not true because when I was away in London I got a little racist remarks towards me because I am Irish, it didn't bother me much but when I told my British cousins they were very embarrassed and apologised for the remarks.) Don't let this throw you because there are still a whole load of extremely nice, welcoming people that will make your holiday worth while and the people I mentioned who are racist are a minority of the population.

I went to Italy last summer for a tour and they treated me very well, they were hospitable. I also went to France, they were a little bit worse but that's cuz some just don't like Americans. Most were nice though. I can't tell you about the rest of Europe though.

I have a Uncle in Russia and from his standpoint blacks in that country are not treated right because his son was black so the family of his girlfriend wanted to kill him why? Because he was black as the result he was adopted by a citizen from the US. Moreover isn't like the US where black could work but in Russia they are not allowed to work or even be at public places.

i get an asian indian news channel on sattelite and i have relatives in india. they recently had an issue with african americans immigrating from niger i think. apparently drugs are closley associated with blacks, even though most of the immigrants are college students, the ammount of drugs in creased at the same time as the immigration increased. so most indians are wary.

It will depend on how you carry and present yourself. I'm a black African living in the US and I've been to Europe- my experience has been good both places everytime.
