Contact the school and find out for yourself! I have never heard of such a thing, but anything is possible these days!

Each school and school board has its own policies and procedures, There is not one national policy. Merely contact you local school office or school board office.

In general what they want to prove is that you actually live within the school district.. You are not required to have a drivers licence to put children in school, There would be various other IDs rent reciepts, utlilitiy bills that my work just as well.

Thats pretty standard everywhere.
They do that to make sure you have your
child enrolled in the correctly zoned school
for your area. if they didn't do that
then all the parents would be trying to cram
their kids in the school with the best reputation.

So if you live near a crappy school you have the option of a private school.

SOMETIMES if there is room in another school nearby
the school board will approve your child to go
to the other school.
