It seems highly unlikely that any reputable business wouldn't have you sign-off on their rules and regulations. That usually happens on your first official day of employment to protect them more than you.

Get your supervisor to sign some written request that you asked for a policies manual.

When they don't sign, call your regional supervisor or the company's Human Resources office.

Keep a written log of your requests and any actions taken or not taken.

Handbook is supposed to be given to each employee so that the latter will know the rules and regulations of the company. It is a requirement under the Labor Law, otherwise, the employee cannot be administratively charged of any offense.

If they refuse to provide you with a copy, there's something wrong. Generally, most reputable business will have you sign that you've received and read one because this provides them a level of legal protection in case you've violated a policy, or another employee complains about your behavior and you're terminated.

If they've asked you to SIGN anything without you having a copy of what you've signed or access to the original, then I'd be very suspicious. But the only reasons I can think that they wouldn't want you to have it is:

- They don't have one
- They don't want empolyees to know the terms of their policies so that they can interepret them as they see fit (In other words, change them to suit themselves).

I think I'd start looking for another job...

Sounds like a stupid company to me, you would think they would want to avoid a potential lawsuit, by any and all of their employees. If another employee harasses you ,you can sue because there are no company guide lines, however, you will have to prove they never gave you a book, I would ask for it , along with other employees in writing and keep a copy. for the future

Yes. An employer has no obligation to give you the employee handbook, if there is one.

Perhaps they don't have any, most places of work do not have employee handbooks.

Perhaps they are out and have to print more ?
