um no you dont need to install a card if the signal is coming from a base station somewhere like even from a diff. computer in ur house or wherever u are then u just need a receiver. My dad has a base station on his desktop downstairs and i have a reciever that plugs into my usb, just have to have the software to install it.

If you don't already have one you would need to get a Wireless PCI card and install it into your system. Once you have it installed (following the instructions, they vary from manufacturer to manufacturer) you should be able to see any available wireless networks around you.

You need a wireless ethernet card installed
on your PC.
You can get them from places
like wal-mart or best buy. they are about $49.00
But heres the deal. if your neighbor has his system password protected then it will do you no good.
and if he doesn't have it protected and you use it.
It is considered STEALING.....
