I have alread done the disk clean up. It wont let me delet the entire drive or any of its contents (windows, programs etc). Its just a virtual drive with back up stuff. I dont think I even want the damn thing.

disk cleanup. right click on it and go to properties, then go to tools. do disk clean up.

and also just go through your old files and delete what you dont need. if you need every thing you might want to consider getting an external hard drive.

I would do the following:

1. Run disk cleanup (Start|Programs|Accessories|Sy stem Tools).
2. Transfer files from the D drive to the C; or combine the two drives as one (Using Partition Magic"; or buy another larger hard drive.
3. Look for files that you don't need and delete them from the D drive.

create a folder on the C drive and name it something like important stuff from D drive.
now open both a the new folder and a window displaying the D drive.
now just cut and paste the files and folders you want to keep from D to the new folder on C:. once done run any programs that refer to the folders or files and change the folder settings on where to find the files. you will normally be prmpted with an error screen and a way to browse for the missing files. just point the browse location at the new folder on the c drive.

You could go through the D drive and delete files that you know you will not need. And you could move some of the files from the D drive to the C drive.

buy another hard drive and use it as secondary, or put some of the extra stuff from the D drive to C.
