In 1982 2.5L 4 cylinder firebirds had 90 hp and were stick shifts, while 2.8L 6 cylinder firebirds had 102 hp and were auto. Which do you think is faster? I say the 2.5L

hmmm, 12 HP difference, 3/10 more liters worth of wait and manual vs. auto, I'll go with the 2.5

first off neither engine belongs in a firebird. second i think that we need more info to answer this. i understand why you say that, cause you can get a much better launch with a stick if you know what your doing. not to mention your lighter. both really good things. but you didnt post how much torque each engine has. torque is where your acceleration is, but with a differnce of 12 horsepower, i would say your right.

actually it is the 2.5 because of the stick shift it has more torgue than the automatic top speed though goes to the 2.8
