Go down to the Metroliner station on 4th Street in Santa Ana. They have a daily schedule of connections - you can get it online quite easily. I have made that trip to downtown San Deigo several times over a long span of years, and it's fun inexpensive and pleasant. there are excellent public transportation services in San Diego to everything. You'll have a good time.

By the way, if you have a fairly new or expensive car, I'd strongly suggest you have someone drop you off and pick you up. Parking at the station there isn't the most secure. Either that, or go to a nearby hotel and pay to park your car in their lot and just cab it the rest of the way.

Park at the Angels' Stadium in Anaheim then take Amtrak to San Diego. Buy a trolley ticket right there (15 feet away) at the SD train station and wait for blue line to Qualcomm. There will be signs there telling you which track goes to Qualcomm. I think the SD paper said it's a $6 RT trolley ride.

Take the Amtrak from Angels Stadium of Anaheim to San Diego Santa Fe Station in Downtown. You will not need to change trains.

WWW.amtrak.com and the train does not go directly to Qualcomm so when you get off the train Downtown San Diego, take the Trolley to Qualcomm and it will let you off RIGHT there, in the middle of Street Scene. Try www.sdcommute.com too.
