Book title? Fiction, women segregated, have babies, wear uniforms?

Ugh, I read this book and really enjoyed it. I want to see if the author has written more:
Starts out telling about the main character, a girl who wears a uniform that includes a hat that is a blinder of sorts. The women can not speak to the men. The women speak oddly to eachother. The main character moves into a home and has to have s*x with the old husband that lives there. The main focus for these women is to become pregnant.

I know, not a lot to go on. I think it may have been a book club book? Anyone??

hmm...you should put this under ARTS AND HUMANITIES and BOOKS AND AUTHORS....a lot of book readers go there to answer questions, and maybe some may know the answer to yours =)
