Stick his nails in dog or cat sh*t....I lay money he wont bite em then..

I am 25 and have been biting my nails since I was about 6 or 7. I have tried all sorts to no avail. Does your son see other people biting their nails? If so, maybe you could let those other people know that your son has started and get them to try not to do so in front of him. You could try putting nail varnish on his nails. I bet if you tell him you;ll out bright pink nail polish on him if he keeps doing it, he will stop soon enough.

Hi my daughter and son both bit there nails i used nail bite which you can buy from the chemist it tastes horrible it made my 2 sick a few times when they put there hands in there mouth but they never done it again and only the threat of using it stops them now brilliant stuff

I started biting my finger nails when i was 6 and i stopped when i was 10 or 11. normally it is a natural habit i think. In my opinion, wait until when he gets older if he grows out of that habit.

I used to bite my nails, but the more my dad said to stop the more I did it. Try ignoring it for a while, it may be a way of getting your attention.

when my son was 6 he used to bite his nails too.i bought some stuff from the chemist to put on his nails(which is bitter).tried that -made him sick.so i stopped.Since then i have tried many different ways to stop him but he still bites his nails. He is 9 now.Maybe u can let me know someday if something works for u.good luck!!!!

bite the habit works for a little while i bit mine for 17 yrs i had used to do it when i was scared upset or lonely is there an underlying prob like that one day i just stopped i have long healthy nails now

Give him rewards each day he doesn't bite his nails until he gets off the habit

there is a nail polish for that and after he tastes it a few times it Ill brake the habit
but if Anyone else in the house is doing it they`ll have to stop also

Just wanted to say that the stuff you paint on doesn't always work, my mum used it on me and i'm 32 and still bite my nails. Try something like lemon juice or something equally nasty, and ask him if he'd like a teething ring as only babies need something to chew on.

Put mustard or something which will taste horrible on the nails or you could buy a proprietary brand of nail stop.
