That's something I haven't thought about in a long time!

I also remember putting playing cards in my bike spokes, the wind-up Evil Kneivel on a stunt motorcycle, water balloon fights, cap guns, complaining that we had to come inside, playing in the rain, running and sliding thru mud puddles, getting my butt spanked by my neighbor for stupid stuff we did...back-talking, forgetting to say 'thank you, please, yes ma'am, and I'm sorry', wearing plaid pants and bell bottoms, my hair being almost as long as my sister's, riding bikes all the way across town to play backyard football and baseball, thinking how lucky the neighbors were to have pong on their tv, records and 8 tracks, hide-and-seek involving half the kids in town and lasting til well after dark, jumping off the railroad bridge at the beach, keeping score during bowling with a pencil and paper, roller skates, swimming or playing anywhere that water collected after rain, there was no such thing as being 'too hot outside,' riding in the back of the car sitting in the window on top of the seat back, and not worrying about locking the car or the house.

Anyone else love it when a neighbor got a new fridge, stove, or anything huge in a box? We turned the empty box into anything from pirate ships to castles to submarines to space ships! That's what fun was!

Yes, I also remember drinking from the hose and family night being a trip to the drive-in.

What's happened? I think we've lost our country! It's time we reclaim those times!

Yep. Times have changed somewhat. BMX has been replaced by mountain bikes, and breakdancing....... I think that still happens... drinking from the water hose... I still do that.. and I have to kick my son outside to do things that I did without asking.

Going to sleep with the front door unlocked and windows wide open, little kids going out to play with out supervision, getting homemade treats from your neighbors at Halloween and Christmas, Christmas still being called Christmas... yes I vaguely remember these sorts of things.

I do! I had a BMX/Mongoose with trick pegs. We use to have those huge boomboxes with a radio & tape player only & we used to play outside for hours . . .

Hell yeah!!! Those were the good ol' days!!! When you could play outside in your front yard, and not be stolen, raped, and murdered by some old man.

Unless you're talking about a video game, myspace or some teen actor, most on here won't know what you're talking about.
