First tip would be for you to use the "Check Spelling" link before you post.
Second, you don't need drivers for either a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to work, especially if you have Windows XP on your computer.
You probably can't burn CDs or watch DVDs because you probably erased or deleted SOFTWARE to do it.
FYI, you don't need any 3rd party software other than Windows XP to watch a DVD movie or burn a CD. Windows Media Player 10 has the necessary plug ins to do that already.
