It does appear that way sometimes! They also tend to prefer privacy even at the cost of security, equal rights for terrorists when they blow up Americans and others, and think that freedom allows them to do anything they want when it is really limited for the good of the whole. They actually have an ideal view of the world and believe that without war there can be peace.

The problem with Freedom and Democracy is that others don't always exercise it the way we think they should: the Palestinians elected Hamas and the Lebanese seem to like Hezbollah.
The Germans voted in the Nazis and the Italians the Fascists, so it shouldn't be a surprise to us now that people are quite capable of electing a party sworn to end democracy and bring in theocracy. Anyway, that's what George W. Bush is trying to do in America...
Another point is that the definition of "freedom" and of "democracy" used by Bush and, arguably, Blair is Orwellian: they are quite happy with fascism, and even fascist state terrorism, as long as it doesn't iminge on their economic interests.

Some of us just have a hard time understanding how freedom can occur at gunpoint. Maybe it's my fault. I just can't wrap my brain around self-denying concepts.
For the record, the phrase "Live Free or Die!" is a declaration of personal choice, not an imperative ultimatum.
Way to make absolute statements, by the way.

Obviously peace orientated people aren't not a big fan of freedom and Democracy. They want you to just roll over and play dead. but you'll be at peace when they shoot ya .

Before u Lough at them...what ensures you that u are in the right way in your views?
Do not be media oriented!!!!!.....read and listen to all media sources...western like Us.(Jews oriented) , BBC( good source), or independent arabic channels like JAzeera International......
USA is not the only country in the world....there are many countries with many people with different thoughts...Read and listen and then Judge....
