Heh... I used to hate the idea of thongs. I called them butt floss. I ended up switching to them for a few reasons. With panties you have all the more material to go up ur butt and make you uncomfortable, panty lines, and thongs are just plain more comfy. If you don't tell you mother, they will just figure it out when one is accidently left in your laundry.
So one day go shopping with your mom and while shopping talk about how you are getting made fun of for panty lines and you want to try a thong. Act like you never had one and I'm sure if your mom is cool she will understand. If they are for practicality and she sees you being forthcomming about it, she won't automaticly assume you are our doing dirty things with boys. If you lie and she finds one she will assume you are sexually active and that will do nothing but stir up a mess of trouble.

y would u tell some one what type of underwear is on your ***???? How old are you? It seems as if you are young and you compete with who wears the most grown p underwear. To answer your question: ......I dont know how to answer this. Sorry.
