Why are you against freedom? Why do you want slavery?
What's that you say, you are not for slavery? Now you know how we feel when you ask these questions impuning conservatives.
We are not against poor children receiving aid. We are against the government being in charge of that aid. Stop being a self righteous a s s, and recognize that we want to help people as much as you do. We just want to do it a different way.
When the government is in charge of social programs, every person is forced to participate. This is called oppression. If we allow the private sector to control social programs then we have choices. Choices equals freedom. For example: under government control I am forced to give $100 every month. If I have an emergency and I need that $100 a month, then I'm screwed because I don't have the freedom to control my own money. Under a private sector program I can give that $100 a month, but if an emergency comes up, I can temporarily stop giving. Then when the emergency is gone, I can resume giving. Do you understand the difference between freedom and oppression yet?
Here's another example: If the government is in control, and they take my $100 and waste it, or loose it, or otherwise abuse it, I can't do anything about it. If I am giving that $100 to the Red Cross and they waste it, then I can stop giving to the Red Cross and instead give that $100 to the Salvation Army, or United Way, or somebody else. Do you understand yet how freedom and competition is a good thing? Do you see how we can help our fellow man, but do it without oppressing people?

Liberals want to tax hard working Americans out of their hard earned wages. Instead of giving that money to the government, to be squandered on a lot of these programs (many social programs spend less than half their funds for their intended use - the rest is lost through waste and overhead and government employee salaries) - let Americans keep their money so they can invest it and use it to buy more goods and services to provide jobs for all Americans.
"Every child to have a fair chance to make in society" - whatever that tortured sentence means - kids are poorly served by a welfare system that robs them of the opportunity and incentive to achieve a success of their own. Again, liberals believe that government can give kids a chance, where 9-5 bureaucrats get to call the shots. Why not give the kids the freedom and opportunity to earn on it their own and be in charge of their own destiny? Liberals don't trust people to make the right decisions, liberals want to make all the choices for people.

I don't think they have problems with the children getting help. I just think they have problems with lazy adults who will not get a better "free" education so they can get a good paying job with benefits. I understand this. My mother lived off welfare for 17 years. No job, and no desire to get up and look for one. Until one day the law changed, and in order to receive welfare people had to be in school, or already working try to get a better job. That's when my mother finally went back to school. Because she had no choice. Now as a tax paying adult I understand why people would be angry for the government just giving handouts. I grew up seeing first hand what American citizens will do if given the chance. They will take advantage for as long as possible.

Yes, that's exactly why us conservatives want to turn off medical programs, because we hate little poor babies and want them to die of horrible, curable, diseases. It's not because we think those same children are better served by other programs, or that it's not the proper role of government to be in charge of people's health. No, it's just that we're evil monsters bent on destroying all that is good and beautiful in the world.

oh, b.s.
Have you ever seen the line in a welfare office? It's full of lazy, childfactories.
Stop rewarding these lazy people for having more kids, and maybe they won't keep having them.
