I was not popular at all in my school and I was really insecure and I think that showed and made me vounerable to be picked on. After I hit puberty and a growth spurt, I wasn't picked on as much but I finally started standing up for myself and THAT made the biggest difference. People can think whatever they want about you, thats just how it is, and you can't change it...but if they see that you are happy with the person you are, they will get jealous because very few teens are comfortable and content with who they are because most of the time they are just stealing someone else's style or stance. Come up with your own! :)

at school I was popular only because I was did well in a lot of different sports... I was not the most attractive girl in school took me a while to grow into my body.. I was also the class clown. Looking back now I never really thought of it as being popular, I think the word was cool then

Assuming you mean "popularity," it's highly overrated. I've been out of high school for many years now. I find those kids who were the MOST popular had the toughest time adjusting in the real world where they went from "important" to just one of millions.
In high school, I had a close circle of friends but was by no means popular (or unpopular). I liked everyone and had friends who were jocks, heads, geeks, etc...

I've only just left school, in junior school (under 11 yrs) I was very popular and quite liked it, but in senior school I was never very popular, I just had my close circle of friends. I enjoyed being popular and wanted to be popular again in senior school, but that required never doing any work, getting drunk all the time and being very bitchy and always dumping boyfriends after 3 weeks. So not really worth making the effort for in senior school!

I loved being popular at school and anywhere else I went. The only real down fall i had with being popular is like you are a star. You can never mess up , or get away with anything because everyone knows who you are. It's like you can ' t even go out without someone coming up to you like you know who they are and them being all in your business.

To be popular can be too stressful. You always have to keep on maintaining the popularity no matter the cost. Also you are always wondering what people think about you. At school I wasn't really popular. People were always around me because they thought I was brilliant. People always try to use you when you are popular so I always prefer to keep a low profile.

i think most of the popular people were very selfish, proud and conceited...they all sounded the same and talked the same and acted the same it was so stupid...and no i was never popular because i can't stand being someone i am not or being fake just to have a lot of fake friends...popularity from high school continues on in the everyday world unfortunately

I think that Popularity is pointless. I was never really that popular but I wasn't a loser. I was nice to everyone, and I was friends with everyone. I don't really believe that I was popular or anything like that. I lived in Edina witch is a really really really rich and cliquey community, and I was never in a particular group. See there was the popular group, the wanna bees, etc. I was friends with at least one person in each group. It doesn't matter when your done with school at all.

I'm a jr this year and i ain't popular. But with people who are like me i am, The preps hate me and my friend's. we're the rednecks of the school and we can be who we really are and i love that. If i was a popular prep i couldn't be myself. BUt i can with the people i hang out with so some popularity is good and some can be bad. You can be popular being yourself then havin to be perfect all the time. Best of luck y'all

In high school (i graduated in 1992), no i wasnt popular. I had very few friends that attended the same school as me. Its obvious to me now, that the problem was me. I hated myself, and other people picked up on that.
Now, i realize that as long as i love myself, what others think of my doesnt matter. I have great friends who accept me for who i am and they love the person i am. Being popular in high school is just a game. Its a matter of either loving yourself or being to pretend you love yourself.
