Bush is a good president for lots of reasons:
1) Because Kerry would have been a far far far worse one
2) Because he understands the middle east issues unlike liberal potheads who side with terrorists. That alone should be reason enough to line up half the democrats in this country (the ones siding with the terrorists with Jim McDermott and Michael Moore at the front of the line) and execute them for treason.
3) Because no matter how many eggs and tomatoes you throw at him, he doesn't change his views just to suck up to you, and because HE BELIEVES IN WHAT IS RIGHT NOT WHAT IS POPULAR.
Yes he's not a perfect president, and I would like a different one, but not one that's more liberal. One that's a LOT more conservative.
Yeah in 2009 it will be his last day as a president, and the first day for an ever more conservative president if liberals continue to act like rabid dogs trained by communists.

Good for whom? The Mexicans? Certainly not for the American middleclass ... There are people who would argue until they're blue in the face that black is white and white is black ... but no matter how much they argue, they can't change the facts ... and the facts in this case is that even with the wildest stretch of the imagination Bush can't be called a good president ...

Those who like him feel that he's both principled and consistent.
Or maybe they just hate liberals so much that they'll defend whatever he does, no matter what.

Note: Prior to Bush's first election, I'd had a conservative challenge ME as to why a feminist might still support Clinton after the whole Lewinsky blow-up (pun intended), and I had to tell him that, as a feminist and a secular humanist, I wasn't about to go support a bunch of seemingly-crazed Bible-Thumpers just because "my guy" was less-than-perfect in some ways. After all, he seemed to be, basically, doing a pretty-good job, from my POV. And it wasn't as if I were defending what he'd done with Lewinsky (or any of the other women with whom he was alleged to have made passes at or had affairs).

If they are neo-cons that can't wait until the second coming of Christ, then they can argue that Bush is still a 'good' president.

Well, how can you argue he is not one? I will argue any point you make, because I'm sure they are the same old tired lies. Ex: "bush lied", "war for oil".
Go ahead, tell me why he is not a good president!

It makes them feel better and at the moment...he is all we have. I think at times his heart is in the right place, his judgement just sucks. But that is all a matter of opinion. He has reasons for the things that he does. I don't believe that he is all that sneaky, I just think he is seriously lacking in judgement. You know, the " I am president of the most powerful country in the world"; I guess that kinda goes to your head after awhile...LOL

Because they like Bush and remember his achievements and deemphasize his failures. Psychological studies show people do this wiith politicians they like. First impressions are lasting ones ...
