An interest in politics. A sense of justice and fairness. An ability to be yourself. Listening to punk music like the Sex Pistols and Leftover Crack.

ignoring labels- like "punk", and not associating yourself with them
listening to Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, G. G. Allen, the Circle Jerks, etc. doesn't hurt either
