I actually researced this back in december. Pregnancy can happen when ejaculate or pre-ejaculate gets into the vagina or on the vulva. The sperm in the ejaculate or pre-ejaculate is what can cause pregnancy. If ejaculate or pre-ejaculate is spilled outside the body, the sperm can survive as long as the ejaculate is still wet. If the semen has dried, been wiped off, or washed off, there are no longer any living sperm. So people who engage in body rubbing should be careful to keep ejaculate and pre-ejaculate from coming in contact with a woman's vulva.

A woman can get pregnant when she has her period. A woman has a good chance of becoming pregnant from unprotected vaginal intercourse during the six days that end in ovulation. Ovulation usually occurs about 14 days before the start of a woman's menstrual cycle.Plus, sperm can live in a woman's body for up to six days (possibly seven).

The only way to be sure of a pregnancy is to take a pregnancy test. A home pregnancy test is accurate if taken correctly, but it's best to visit a qualified family planning professional for a pregnancy test and pelvic exam to be absolutely sure. Call 1-800-230-PLAN to be connected to your nearest Planned Parenthood health center or use the clinic connections below.

It can be scary to take the test, but don't put it off — the longer you wait, the harder it can be to deal with a positive result.

hope this helps

The chances of you being pregnant are very slim. First of all, you were most likely not in the fertile stage of your cycle. Second of all, the chances that the sperm could be transferred that way is very small. Here's a quick lesson on your menstrual cycle, about 2 weeks before you start your period, your body releases an egg, this is called ovulation. If you have sex a day or two before this(sperm can live inside you for 2 or 3 days), on this day, or a few days after this, then you can get pregnant. If you don't get pregnant, then your body will get ready to shed the egg and the nice little bed it made inside of you to nourish and hold the egg. That's what comes out when you have your period. However, not everyone's cycle is the same, some people get a period more often than once a month, some get it less. But if you were on the last day of your period, chances are that you were not ovulating. Still, in the future be really careful. It sounds like you don't want to get pregnant so you two should tone it down some. And try not to stress about this, stress can delay your next period, which will really freak you out and lead to even more stress. Good Luck, and slow down on the sex, even oral and hand jobs!

P.S.- The person who said that sperm cannot travel past the hymen is full of crap and doesn't know what she is talking about. Think about it, you are still a virgin, meaning your hymen is still not broken, but you get your period every month. The flow has to come through, and it gets past the hymen. The hymen does not cover the whole openeing, it is a band of tissue that is around the opening, but it doesn't cover it completely.

Ok I highly doubt that you would get pregnant- here are a few facts. 1 sperm "can" (not many do tho) live up to 6 days in a petri dish and potentially in a females body. 2. you were on your last day of your period- most likely you will not ovulate until atleast 14 days after your first day of your last period. So happen there was a little sperm on his hand- 3.it is highly unlikely considering there would probly be very little on his hand. 4. many sperm die on the way to the egg. 5. it may take one sperm to fertilize the egg but it takes a lot to help break down the barriers the egg has on it (would take too long to explain). plus they all would have died no more than 13 days after your first day of the last period so you can rest easy and not worry about it.

No sperm do not die when they hit the air.

OK, even if you had semen injected into you on the last day of your period, the chances of becoming pregnant are slim to none. We have fertile times during the month (women) when we can become pregnant and the rest of the time we can't. During your period is one of those times that we won't get pregnant (in a normal cycle) Typically, women ovulate (release an egg) around 14 days from the first day of their period (so you add about two weeks from the day you started your period). Sometimes it's before 14 days and sometimes it's after (it could be anytime around then, so it's very important to use birth control ALL the time because you don't know when you ovulate for sure. I happen to ovulate around day 21, so it varies a lot from woman to woman) You're not only fertile when you ovulate, you're fertile a few days before and after (this is why you must always use protection) because sperm can live for up to five days in you. They sit around waiting for that egg! Being that you weren't actually having sexual intercourse and that you were still on your period, the odds of you becoming pregnant are practically ZERO.
I suggest that you do some reading about your cycles so you have a better understanding of what's going on. That way, you won't have to worry so much. There's a great book that will explain everything and it's easy to read called "The Teenage Body Book" Sorry, I don't remember who it's by, but it's easy to find. Check it out, you'll find it interesting. It talks about everything, too, not just body-related stuff. It explains the anatomy of men, talks about sex, birth control, etc.

Wow, I can see why you're disappointed with the previous answers. There is a possibility that sperm from his fingers could get you pregnant (as you note, sperm do not die when ejaculate hits the air) BUT the critical point you make is the timing of this event. You said you were on the last day of your period, that means that the chance that you were ovulating (releasing the egg that the sperm would match up with) is very small too. All things considered, the chances are very, very small.

if sperm dies when it hits air then how do they test a males fertility when they have him deposit it in a cup , evedently it can survive for a short peroid of time at least out side the body .
also the person who said you cant get pregnant while on your period it happens 2 weeks after or inbetween preiods . that is not true either . it is the norm , but not 100%
i have 5 kids and all were conceived with in a day or so of when i was to start my peroid . [30 day cycle ] so it took a while for the pregnancy to test positive because of this . also my due dates were all changed by 2 weeks[ via ultrasound] since they go by the norm of last menstral peroid . it is possible to have your peroid and be pregnant , just as it is possible to get pregnant while on your cycle . this is why the natural family planning method is not as reliable as we all wish it was .
my oldest son was conceived from playing around , we didnt actually have intercourse but semen did come into contact to where i got pregnant .

it really is highly unlikely, but sperm can live in the body for up to 3 days. i seriously doubt that you would get pregnant from this since the sperm would not only have been on his hand and not wiped off somehow and then travel through the cervix, and into the fallopian tube at the right moment when your egg is in the tube while at the same time you are finishing your period (most likely time to get pregnant is in the middle of your cycle, not the end.) i wouldn't worry about it if i were you...

Calm down, it is VERY UNLIKEly you will get/be pregnant.
ALthough sperm do not die upon contact with air.
The do need to get to your egg.

And since you were on the last day of your period
there shouldn't be any egg. The periods whole purpose
is to flush out old eggs, And then your body puts
out a new one a few days later.

If he had GOBS of *** on his finger
and put it deeply inside of you AND you were ovulating then there would be a slim chance you could get pregnant. But not under the conditions you
described.

If you were on the last day of your period ...chances are slim to none that you could have gotten pregnant even with unprotected vaginal intercourse. When you have your period your body is shedding the lovely little environment it created in preparation for a possible pregnancy ...so the warm fuzzy environment is not there and needs to build back up..which takes about 10-15 days past your period start date for you to ovulate..to ovulate is to release an egg that hangs around in your uterus waiting to meet up with a handsome sperm and create life. No egg ...no pregnancy...another week goes by and you have another shedding of the uterine lining ...better known as your period. So smile :)
I think you're alright.

Sperm does die when it hits air...go and do your research on this matter or talk to a doctor.

If you are really that scared then you need to stop fooling around with your boyfriend because it seems you have no clue in what you are doing.

Get a home test and see if you are pregnant.
