we may be tied for first, but I think head to head we are better, which is about all that matter since we still have at least 8 games left against each other.

Red Sox have a far superior team this year, we'll go categorically...
Hitting:
A-Rod, Jeter and Damon, vs. Ramirez, Ortiz, Lowell, Nixon, and Varitek... get out of town.
Fielding?: A-Rod has more errors at this point in the season, that he's ever had in any give season, and there's nearly 60 games left to play.
Pitching: Schilling is a possible AL Cy Young Candidate, Beckett is having an outstanding year, and Randy Johnson, who is getting a huge chunk of the Yankee's payroll isn't doing anything productive. Mussina is having a good year, but he's the only one. Yankees of course have Rivera, but he's been shaky at times this year, and Papelbon is proving to be the closer of the next generation. And we can't forget about our middle relief in mike Timlin! out of control... We'll win the division by 3 games at least.

Red Sox fans are the worst, the Yankees are a far more superior team. I won't even talk about the teams history because it is already spelled out amongst all of the answers. I will talk about how the captain of your team, that know needs surgery was batting .243 wow thats real captain like. Your stay on the top of the AL east has expired. David Ortiz is your team, without him your competing with tampa bay for last place. Someone had mentioned both teams pictching staffs, you forgot about Chien Mang, far better then fat boy Wells and Clement combined. Jeter did not say that A Rods slump was not his problem, he sad that it happens to everyone and he will find his way out of it. What do you want Jeter to do hug A Rod for five minutes just like all of the homos on your team does after a homerun is hit. Bottom line is, is that the Red Sox organization is the most unprofessional organization in all of sports,the fans sux, your ownership sux, and your stadium is garbage. Sorry I got of subject but the Yankees are indeed a better team.

You're not ... (not a yankee fan) .... but they have won like 10 times more championships than the Red Sox and this year they have both Matsui and Sheffield injured and Randy pitching really mediocre and still the Red Soxs can't runaway with the division ... Sadly, the Red Soxs will always be 2nd tier to the Yankees .... ALWAYS!!!!!

Come on' AnswerMan....do we really need to say it AGAIN??!! We know and they know that the Red Sox are a much better TEAM. Just look at the chemistry between our players and theirs. Nobody stood up for A-Rod when fans were booing him. Even Jeter said it was none of his business to interfere and tell the fans to back off. WHAT A TEAM CAPTAIN!
Now, our guys are just awesome and even though all the skankee fans HAVE to bring up the PAST, we look at the present and see that our future is winning the World Series of 2006!!

This year you are better. You have better team chemistry although you don't have as many all-stars. You find a way to win most of the time. Also the Sox defense is much better than the Yankees and defense wins championships.

You are NOT better then us Yankees!!!! Well, first of all, we have 26 World Series and 39 American League Divisions and we are tied with you at first place in the standings. So..... HA HA HA!!!!!!! You're just jealous that we have more World Series then you!
