Ovverated----------------Richard Jefferson he can score but he has no perimeter game and jump shot
Underrated--------------Either Shawn Marion or Udonis Haselm
Marion can score and rebound like crazy but doesn't get the attention he should get
Haslem is a great rebounder an a ok scorer but is overshadowed by d-wade and shaq

Overrated: Stephan Marbury. If a player has the nerve to call himself the best point guard in the league, that's as good a clue as any that the dudes hype far exceeds his actual skill.
Kenyon Martin. Primo example of how playing alongside a great player (Jason Kidd) can make a player look better than he really was.
Baron Davis. Might be worth most of that hype if he could stay close to healthy, but he hasn't even played 60+ games for the season since 2002-03.
Underrated: Elton Brand. Has been consistantly overlooked for no other reason than he plays for the Clippers. That's pretty low considering the dude has averaged a double-double for most of his career.
Josh Childress, Another guy whos underrated because of the team he plays for. One of those guys that can do some of everything that every team needs. Plus he has the greatest 'fro in the league right now.
Delonte West, Boston ditched Marcus Banks cuz of this guy stepping in and just being so damn good. West just jumped into the point and proved himself a good shooter, a good defender. Boston got better when they made him a starter, and he barely got any notice for that.
Eeewwww, I just praised a Celtic. I feel so dirty.

Over rated: Steve Francis. the guy isn't really all that great. He can't really shoot and he makes poor decisions sometimes. The only reason he made it to an ASG was because of da fans no coach would have put him him.
Under rated: Chris Kaman. the guy may look like a big goof but he's got game. He has a good touch under the basket with both hands, he blocks shots, he's a good free-throw shooter, and a good passer. Oh yea he can also rebound. Any one who can get a 20/20 game with Elton Brand as your frontcourt partner deserves credit. Because we all know Elton's a beast on the glass.

Most overrated is Kobe Bryant. He has great talent but is selfish and arrogant and has no interest in making his teammates better, as truly great players do.
I would say the most underrated is Joe Johnson of the Hawks. He scores, passes, rebounds and plays defense while shooting high percentages.

i think steve nash is the most overatted ...he does score 19 and dish out 9 assists but he has lots of guys that can make shots and take pressure off of him. Boris Diaw, shawn marion, amarie stoudamire and definatley Tim Thomas.
Id have to say the most underated player is Gilbert Arenas...hes a warrior he averaged 30+ pts a game in the playoffs but he didnt have enough core guys to still carry the team he dishes out 6 or 7 assists and he can shoot the long ball...what more can a coach ask for?

Unrrated: Either Jamal Crawford (Kincks) or Gerald Wallace (Bobcats). Crawfor is stuck in NY, where they have 12thousand guards and never gets his proper amount of minutes to shine and G.Wallace is always injured. Both af them will be stars at the end of the 2006-2007 season.
Overrated: D.Wade. I hate to say it because I really like him, but I only say that because he has the luxury of playing one-on-one most of time. Kobe, Lebron, Pierce and Iverson don't have that luxury because their teams can't win without them. We all know that Shaq could have done a lot more in the finals if he had to.

Over rated- definatly without a question it's Tracy Mcgrady. he's very athletic but can only score, can't play defense, rebound, assist, or carry a team. he also gets injured a lot.
Under rated- Paul Pierce. Statistically one of the best players in the league but gets no respect for it. If he weren't on the team they'd easily be the worst
