I like Texas. Ohio is close so it would not be too much of a culture shock.

Get a job in some other state, and move wherever that is.
I have lived in about 14 states, and overseas. There are wonderful things about everywhere, and rotten things, too. Depends on what you like.
I loved Florida for the weather and beaches, but the rednecks made it impossible for me to date. I love Oklahoma for the trees, and pleasant people, but it is very conservative.
I loved New Orleans for the history, architecture, and food but the schools and pay sucked. I loved Maine for the fairly liberal politics/people, and beautiful scenery, but 14 feet of snow for nine months was unbearable.
If I were in your shoes, and I had never been anywhere, I would go to Savannah, Georgia or San Antonio,Texas, just for the amazing change of culture.
Savannah is a beautiful old southern town, just like "Gone with the Wind." It is very expensive, and you have to be a died-in-the- wool rebel to get along. The first time you open yor mouth, you will be smiled at politely and clawed to death as you walk away. You will be an outcast, but it is an experience that will enrich you. and make you appreciate your home.
San Antonio, is a big sprawling town, with history and big tourist trade. If you are bi-lingual you will do well. If you are not, you soon will be. It is HOT! There are "cowboys" there who have never seen a cow, but they will love to get their hands on a little Yankee.
Save some money-about $1000 or more-and get a job first, then move. Leave behind anything you cannot fit in your car, and go.
When I was 21, I packed my cat and clothes and took a train to DeKalb, IL to live with my boyfriend. It was wonderful, although it was real culture shock for me. Everyone was so unfriendly and busy. I loved the snow for a while. I lived there almost 10 years.
You only live once--GO!
