I always have 3 or 4 books open around the house or in the car. Now I am reading "The Anatomy of Motive" by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. Title should be self explanatory, the make up of criminal motives. Am also reading "All the Dave Barry You Could Ever Want" by Dave Barry. Humorous author, and this is 4 of his books in one. He talks about relationships, babies and other hazards if sex, also home repairs and how to get a career. Hilarious. I see this months Readers Digest by the bed along with a favorite Erma Bombeck book, "If Life is a Bowl of Cherries, What am I doing in the Pits?" Funny stuff. The car has a couple of spiritual reference books that I use frequently.

The last book and current book are both re-reads I'm afraid. I hadn't read either in a long time and wanted to go back to them. The last book was Servant of the Bones by Anne Rice. It's one of my favorites by Rice about a spirit and his journey through life and becoming the servant of the bones. Rice has a gift for storytelling and it shines bright in this novel. My current book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. It's a quick read, but fun. I'm planning on re-reading the series 1-6 before 7 comes out. After that, I'll be re-reading The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffennger. It's a great book about the relationship between two people, one of which has the fortunate or unfortunate ability to time travel. It's basically a love story, with some interesting twists.

The Master of Ballantrae by Robert Louis Stevenson
In December 1887 Stevenson wrote that he had 'fallen head over heels into a new tale ... a most seizing tale; there are some fantastic elements; the most is a dead genuine human problem - human tragedy, I should say rather.' The Master of Ballantrae opens in the old Scottish house of Durisdeer, ancestral home of the Duries, a family divided by the Jacobite rising of 1745. Its adventure draws in sea voyages, piracy, buried treasure, magic and nightmare, and centres on the fatal rivalry between two brothers, James and Henry, and the wealthy and beautiful kinswoman who loves one brother but marries the other. 'The Master is all I know of the devil,' Stevenson confessed, and the satanic, virile, seductive figure of James Durie dominates the novel. The family servant Mackellar narrates The Master of Ballantrae and his divided loyalties dramatize the question of 'mastery'

I just discovered the author Jodi Piccoult. I've read two books by her and plan on reading some of her others: "Plain Truth" is about an Amish family who finds a dead baby on their farm and have to encounter the legal system against their traditions, and "My Sister's Keeper" which is about a 13-year-old girl who constantly has to be a donor for her sister which a rare disease, who actually files for medical emancipation against her parents. Both are very well written.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. If you haven't seen the movie or Bride and Prejudice then I shall explain. Basically it's about a woman who is intent on marrying off of her children. When a rich and single gentleman and his friend come to town the mother can't wait to try and catch their eye. While the gentleman is caught up with one daughter his stuck-up, pristine friend seems to have an eye for the other sister. Will he admit his true feelings ? What happens when the two are away at the gentleman's manor for a week? Will the encounter burst forth in passion? Or in rage? Read Pride and Prejudice to find out.

The very last e book I study changed into the brilliant novel "massive" by ability of truly one of my favourite authors, Edna Ferber. it truly is an epic about the existence and circumstances of Texas cattle ranchers, and the muse for the renowned 1956 movie starring Rock Hudson and Liz Taylor. The e book i'm at present studying is the total memoir "strolling With The Wind: A Memoir of the flow" by ability of John Lewis. it truly is a really soaking up account of the early days of the Civil Rights flow.

I finished a book yesterday and one today--both excellent choices--so I'll tell about both.
HIT THE ROAD by Caroline B. Cooney is a very funny book about a 16 year old girl, Brittany, who is coerced to drive her grandma "Nannie" and her friends on a wild road trip...destination their 65th college reunion...the problem....it involves kidnapping a patient from an alzheimer's facility.
RULES OF THE ROAD by Joan Bauer is a great book about a teen--16 I believe--who works in a shoe store who is hired to drive the boss--the big boss, current president of the company--to Texas for the stockholder's meeting. Mrs. Gladstone has some unfinished business before she retires and has her hip replaced...and it takes help from Jenna to do it.
