I love the song "And When I Die" by Laura Nyro, also recorded by Blood, Sweat, and Tears. I also like the gospel song "Ain't Got Time to Die". Also, "People Get Ready".
My mom died recently, and we had "People Get Ready" as the recessional.
Addendum: as far as ideas for "fire" songs are concerned, well, I heard the Ohio Players' "Fire" on Leno last night (Ross the Intern took firefighter training). There's also "Disco Inferno" by the Trammps, and the instrumental "Ritual Fire Dance" from El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla.
