The person that was talking about the airport place -- I believe that's called Encounter. never been there but looks kinda cool but who really wants to go to the airport if they don't have to.
there is this fabulous place in silverlake called conquistador on sunset at edgecliffe. it is very festive and fun but i suggest going early since it gets really crowded. the food is decent and not too expensive but really they've got stuff hanging from the walls and the ceilings and just trust me, it's cool.
if you are on the west side i'd do a fun night on sawtelle--eat at a cheapy but delicious noodle place then go to karaoke. it's all on sawtelle between olympic and santa monica. definitely stop in at the giant robot store for shopping.

Is there a place near the airport where you can see the planes come in and go out from afar ...from a large window or from a rooftop... dinner and a movie is my choice..

joe's crab shack . I know that there is one in seal beach, but i also think that there is one in long beach...It is so much fun.
