Pick a theme or color pallete to work from. Take everything out then paint the walls. Avoid wall paper because it is a pain to change later. You can shop for furniture at Ikea. You can even put a rug on top of a carpet if you like. Have fun and express yourself.

Keep it clean and simple. When you are young, bedrooms are for studying and sleeping. Think carefully about it because it is a lot of work. You don't want to have to do it again next summer.

The theme of my room is stars and moons. I painted my walls light purple (no dark colored paint because it tends to make the room smaller) and I have a dark blue border with horoscope symbols, stars and moons. I also made a long black and purple paper chain that hangs around my room on the ceiling. Alot of people thinks it looks "beyond unique". Oh, and I have framed pictures of different kinds of cats on my wall. :)

Clean out all the crap in your room by asking yourself whether you really need it. If there are collectibles, sell them on ebay.

Get stuff from ikea that helps with storage... I personally like JALL the best. It's a cool laundry basket thing for only $4.

I would use yellow, white and blue. Make the room more calming and maybe get rid of a bunch of stuff I don't need. Getting rid of clutter really helps a room look better.

I just bought a condo and redecroated it. First is figure out a theme for that room. If you are going to paint and change carpet, paint before you change carpet, you can go to sherwin-williams.com to see different paint colors for different rooms, then all you need is money, it will cost more than you think so budget well for it.

i would go old school...clasic per say. White everything an dthen on my bed i'd add some classc colours, gold, or red, or brown and keep it clutter free and a chilled area. Either that or pink polka dot walls with long curtains my matress on the floor lots of colour and clutter!

well my rooms colorful i have each wall pained a different color including the ceiling and the rug in the ceiling i have a bunch of glow in the dark stars and its just has a lot of flowers if ur into the gurly gurl room

i wud do a like lavander color but i always liked the half colored walls like half lavender say half lemonmorange or w.e. i think that looks cool like that wiht a white celiing even tho i always wanted clouds think thats stupid now but w.e. and pictures of my best friends all over my dresser and cool lights all over my room with the coolest lamps on my nighstand i always wanted a big bed say king right now i ionli have a twinn and a cool rug like that matches the walls and a big comfy couch or something and my closet to be a walk in closet that u cud actually walk in it and "fit" and i wud prbbly have nice curtains like beige or sumthing like that and i always wanted like u kno that arrea near ur window u sit on and also i alwyas wanted a balkony so i cud sit outside my room and read at night thatll be cool

If I was single - it'd have a bed suspended from the ceiling ( they use a trampoline) --- my floor would be made of cork --- the walls would have a chalkboard surface--- limo tint windows--- surround sound home theatre system --- connected to my top of the line computer!
