My best friend Meg thinks she might be pregnant. She is 18 and she is supposed to start her period in two days. She is having more discharge, sore breasts, and she is also way more tired than usual. please dont be rude. Just tell me if you think those are pregnancy symptoms she is really worried(she is graduated high school but just now starting college.) Thanks to anyone.

Should meg wait until a few days after her period is supposed to start to take one? When would be the earliest time she could take one?

Those are all good indications of pregnancy. The best thing she can do is wait for three days and then take a test. If she still doesn't start and the test came out neg. she can retest again in about a week. One more person has already said she needs to TRY and not stress about it though because that itself will hold off your period. Best thing she can do is relax and wonder well OK, what if? Find the solutions, that way if she is pregnant she will not be freaking when she finds out for sure AND the process of thinking about it all might help her to make sure that she doesn't have any more oppps. :) Best of luck to you both and much peace
You can take a test the next morning after your period should have started.

Meg may or may not be pregnant. There are some over the counter pregnancy tests that advertise their ability to detect pregnancy before your period is even missed. She could do a home pregnancy test now and, if negative and she is still late, take it again in a few days. She could also go to the Public Health Department, Planned Parenthood, a local pregnancy crisis counseling center or a doctor.
Either way, Meg needs to see a doctor. If this turns out to be a false alarm, she really needs to explore reliable birth control options. If she is pregnant, then she needs to discuss her options with an reliable and informed person - a doctor is a good place to start.
Whatever happens, don't ignore the situation. She does not want to show up in the ER with 'belly' pain in May and end up delivering a baby.

Could be either pregnancy or PMS, they are signs for both. Are the symptoms worse then she usually gets. Usually you will not have as much discharge with Pregnancy. If she has regular periods I would say take a test 2 days after expected period and if she is irregular do the same & if it turns out negative a test every 7 days after that.

Those are premenstrual signs and pregnancy signs. It's easy to confuse the two. If she is to start her period in two days, I would wait a few more days and see if her period is missed. If it is missed she can go to the store and buy a pregnancy test or go to the doctors. Places like Planned Parenthood can do free pregnancy tests too.

She could very well be pregnant, or she could be having symptoms of an on-coming menstrual cycle since she's to start soon. I'd wait a few days, tell her to see if her period starts, and then if it hasn't, take an HPT. There are HPT that could tell you right now if she is pregnant or not. Good luck!
P.S,
Remember, there are always options!

Sounds like she could be pregnant, but she should wait until she has actually missed a period before she gets really worried. if she hasn't had her period by then try a pregnancy test.

Have her take a pregnancy test. What you describe can be caused by stressing and worrying about it. Get a home pregnancy test package, have her do the test correctly and stop stressing.

Yes she may very well be pregnant. Only a gynocologist can determine that for sure. Tell her not to worry so much, because worrying will make it happen.
