what is simple math?

im doing time cards for the first time besides calculating my own time card I have never had to calculate time card before so what makes it simple math.

Knowing hot to add and subtract. Its noting complicated. I find it easier when I use military time to calculate time cards. Military time there are 24 hours 12 noon = 12:00 pm
1 pm = 13:00pm
2 pm = 14:pm
ect until 12:00 am midnight = 24:00 pm
