I am sick of so many people rotting away in jail. Watching tv, playing sports, eating food, on taxpayers money. Why do we have to work, while criminals play. Personally, I feel that Convicted murderers, child molesters and rapists should have the option of lethal injection or the electric chair... not the choice of who's on who's team or what they want to eat for dinner. These people are just waste of space, time and money.

Ok... then if you are against death penalty. And would rather keep paying with your hard earned money so that these criminals can see another day.. Why not do some lab testing on them like they would animals. Since animals can't give an answer like Ouch that hurts... a person could. If someone killed someone I loved. It would take every ounce of my strength not to kill the bastard myself. I say good riddens. If lab testing was aval. for inmate that are murders/rapists etc. there would be ALOT less crimes and criminals infesting our jails.

Set aside if you are a republican, democrate or a liberal or anything in between.. how do you, personally, really feel on the subject.

I am for death penalty... but depends on circumstances, age, and crime. Like this guy Selpack, who got outta jail by mistake, went on a killing spree with his girlfriend. After a few precious lives lost, he made a mockery of the judicial system by pleading not guilty. I don't feel that he should live another day. An eye for an eye. Like you said, Murderers, Rapists and Child Molester should be but to death. A murderer takes one or many lives but still gets to breathe precious air? A Rapist or child molester torchures and kills off the innocence of a person? These people cannot change. Its like a bear tasting human blood for the first time... that bear is found and shot dead. If they are a youngster, they still can be saved, considering that they have a chance to redeem themselves, with juvy and major counseling. As for an adult... They know better. I feel that it would eliminate alot of cruel crimes that are infesting all states to legalize it. There needs to also be better teaching and training of children, right from wrong.. once a child seems like they are veering in a bad direction they need to be counseled and redirected. Just my humble opinion.

I am completely against it. I have a family member that is in prison for the rest of his life because of a crime that he is "100% guilty of". No hard core DNA or any proof, just young teenage witnesses that said that he did it. And an adult that thinks that my family member is the greatest person on earth for covering for a friend. So if you are asking if I think that it is right for someone to be put for death for a crime they might have committed, heck no. My family member was a very young teenager when he went to prison, and he will never get out on parole. I do however think that if a man (or woman) hurts a child they should have to suffer in the way that the child suffered. If a man (or woman) raped a child, then I think that he/she should be given corporal punishment until the day they die. I don't think there should be any leeway in such cases.
PS and I don't think that the state should allow for teenage offenders to be put in an adult prison even if the child was convicted as an adult.

Definitely I am for it. However part of the punishment is the jail time. Think about it people on death row live in a tiny cell with no windows or even outside time. Believe me it is not all fun and games. And I am glad to let my tax dollars go to people like murderers/rapists to sit on death row. I think it is good money spent since everyday will be a constant reminder of their crime.

I am from Canada where there is no death penalty.Killing inmates would save money, but where's the justice?I think that it would be more of a punishment for these low life's to spend eternity rottting in a jail then put them out of their misery and let them die.Plus you have to also consider the fact that at least 10% of inmates on death row are innocent.I'm not highly relegious and I know alot of these people don't deserve to live, however that should not be our decision,it should be God's.

Death penalty for everywhere: approve!
Only it should be fast and inexpensive. None of this thirty years of appeals crap. If your found guilty, beyond a doubt of some horrible crime that rates a death sentence; then they should usher you out the back door of the court house and shot you behind the right ear.
Short and sweet. Painless. No muss no fuss.
Although I do believe this should be reserved for the worst, most violent, sadistic offenders. And believe me; there are plenty of scum bags that fit this profile.
Oh what a better word it would be.
Can you tell I'm not a bleeding heart liberal?

Against. If the crime is dat bad then they should just lock em' up for da rest of they lives. I mean if a criminal take someones life then that's bad of course, but if they kill the convict then they turned out to B just as bad as he is, Bcuz they tryna take his life. Also bein in jail is not so peachy cream, I mean they is not aloud to go no where at all they just stuck in dat dump, and plus they can't hurt no one ever again if they in there for da rest of they life.

I'd be against it unless there was really really strong evidence. Too many cases have been overturned lately .
A better alternative would be hard labor, that would be useful while they were in jail to make up for the cost of housing them.

Prison is not meant to be a palace- like it is now. Death penalty should only be used for those who are 100% guilty. I mean either they have confessed or evidence has proven them guilty.
I don't know what that makes me- I think I am a republican for the most part!

Let me ask you a question. What if one of these murders killed someone you really loved and cared for? When they were caught would you want them to die right away, and not suffer or would want them to stay in jail their whole life and suffer everydayfor what they did. Personally I would want them to stay in jail their whole life.
