It just feels different. After having more experience you definetly know what you want and what you don;t want, so the next time that you shop arounf for prospective mates you will be way more selective than before.
You will have an "ideal" mate for you, design specifically with your needs and wants, this time you will not compromise or sale your self short. You know what yoru standards are, so it will take you more time to find that person.
After dating for a while, you can see the sign "LOSER" written on their foreheads. You ave heard that speech before, know all the pick up lines and can smell BS from a mile away. You enjoy rejecting them and feel proud of yourself.
After a while of dating you will give up. You think the "the one" would never come and it is impossible to find someone with so many qualities. You cry your self to sleep, alone watching "Moonstruck" for the 20th time.
Then he comes, damn, he falls on your lap. You love him from the day you saw hi, you knew what you wanted since day one. You cannot believe the lenghs that you will go for this man, as soon as you see him you just want to take him home and tell him your whole life stoty. Every is so seamless, no mind games, no pretending, just you and the truth. He treats you like the godess that you are and understands you, You both have a lot in common and start making plans right away to see each other as soon as possible. Everything works so well and effortlessly. You fantazise about getting married very very soon. He is your hero. You cover your mouth when you want to tell him that you already love him! But is soo soon that you think is impossible, he feels the same and you both laugh and have fun together.

OHHH l'ammour.... is so beautiful.

Hope this doesn't scare you, because you sound young, but I didn't find THE ONE until I was 51. I know it's a cliche, but you do "just know". You're instantly comfortable in their presence. You can have silences and it's not awkward. When you make love with that person you don't have to ask....you both know its like nothing either of you have ever experienced before.
And the fact that I found the only love of my life after 50, means it's never too late! (although we did both promise to find each other sooner in the next life! LOL)
Good luck, and hope you find your 'THE ONE' soon!

Most people think that they have found the one when they find someone they are in lust with. Really, the one is the person who will stand by you when you are in trouble, comfort you when you are hurt, defend and protect you when you need it. They don't happen over night but take time to grow. I thought I had the ONE but I wanted to have my own home and life away from my family. I have paid for that many times over and am finally learning that THE ONE is someone you can grow old with and still want to be around each day.

Well, I knew that my husband was the one before we ever met!
He touched my heart like no one else ever has and that is how I knew! I was 29 years old and he was 49! We have been together 5 years and married for 2 of those! Even though I could kill him sometimes, I know that I could never live without him!

I hope that you find the one, cause it will be great and you will know deep in your heart! It is unmistakable! Good luck and God bless!

I was 18 when I met my husband. I knew because when I first saw him everything around me seemed unimportant. We were engaged a month later and married when we were 20. Now we have a 3 year old and one on the way. We just celebrated our 6 year ann. and I love him more than ever. good luck.

When I turned 19 I met the love of my life. We were in high school together and I never thought of him that way. We became really close friends senior year and we are now married with a two year old. It will happen when you least expect it.

I was a year out of my first marriage. I was 24. He was 27, we were next-door neighbors and began to be friends. We are now married and happy. When we met I wasn't thinking that he was the one. He says that it was "love at first sight", I don't believe that one but, it sounds good.
