when you were pregnant and went to bed, you obviously layed on your side like your supposed to (preferrably left side). Did you feel your baby move around alot! When I lay down on my side, it's almost like my baby gets "smooshed" or something because she starts squirming and kicking a lot. I feel bad so I move so that my belly isn't exactly touching the mattress because she gets so uncomfortable. I know it's silly but I guess my question is: Am I hurting her? I am 7 months pregnant and asked yesterday how you ladies dealt with sleeping because it is so uncomfortable. You all helped me a lot and I took your advice on buying the body pillow. That works excellent. But my baby still moves around really crazily when I lay down. Did you experience this?

Movement is perfectly normal - take it from a mother of 3. If your baby is not active it simply means there is something wrong. The further you go into the end of your pregnancy the more uncomfortable you will become. And no, you are not hurting the little one - the crazy movement comes from everything being pushed to one side. It is all natural - take it in stride and enjoy it.

During the day when you're active and moving around, you're pretty much rocking the baby to sleep. And not only that - but sometimes busy where you don't notice all the movements. At night, things are quieter, and all that you have left is your belly with all the wakin' baby in it.

After being pregnant with twins for so long, I have found that it gets harder & harder to find a comfortable spot to get a good night's sleep in. It doesn't matter what side I sleep on, I always feel like there's a baby there. And sleeping on my back is out of the question - too much pressure on my spine. I have learned to prop myself up with extra pillows - and I really do get a lot of naps in the lazy boy too.

But, the twins move around like crazy at night. After taking care of the others all day - it's a great time for me to fully concentrate on the 2 that will be here soon. And it's great when I know which part of which baby I'm feeling. "Hey he just punched me." or "Well, twin B is up too. party, anyone?"

Don't worry, your not goin to hurt your baby. I toss and turn loads when I sleep and as u can imagine it was 100x worse when I was pregnant. I used to be so paranoide that I'd break the baby's arm or something but you can't.

The baby is well protected with the amniotic sac and fluid, she is in a lovely soft bubble. When you relax your baby perks up and thats why your feeling her moving about more.

I hope you find some comfort and get some sleep - that was the worst part for me! I used a V shaped pillow which I put under my bump and my back which eased things a little but I still woke up everytime I turned over!

Good luck - not long to go now!

I have two children and it's almost like they know when you want to lay down and get some rest. Your baby will move alot when you're laying down and the further along you get, the more uncomfortable it will be for you but you are not hurting the precious little munchkin! But remember this, even after the baby is born, it still won't stop moving around when you want to get some rest! Take naps every little chance you can get! Good luck with your sweet little babers!

During both of my pregnancies, my babies moved around alot at night. It's different for every woman though. Some babies sleep at night like you, and some sleep during the day and are awake at night when your ready for bed. Sometimes, depending on how active you are, you may be feeling your baby moving more when you lie down at night because your body is in a relaxing state. I do not believe that you are harming your baby by laying on your side. If you are worried, try rubbing your belly, it would be like a massage for the baby and may help with calming him/her down when you are trying to get rest yourself. Good Luck!!

Lying on your side doesn't hurt the baby at all, even if you have the sensation that your baby has "fallen" to that side and is smooshed down against the mattress. Your uterus, amniotic fluid and all those other layers make for a very cozy nest for the baby that your position won't compromise. Plus, at 7 months, your baby has adjusted to a smaller, more cramped uterine environment anyway.

My babies ALWAYS start moving when I lie down to rest on my side. And guess what, they do it after they are born, too! LOL. As soon as you lay down, or sit down to eat, they wake up or cry. So perhaps you are just already seeing your baby's waking patterns early on. When you stop moving, the boat stops rocking and they awake!

Yes all the time.(39 wks pregnant) Itis very normal and your not hurting her. Try putting a smaller pillow under your belly. Lift your baby belly up and insert the edge of the pillow. It works for me. The baby will still move but it's not soo uncomfortable.

The baby is moving around a lot, but if you are moving and being real active you probably dont realize it until you lay down. My kids did that a lot, I swear they knew when I was going to bed because that is when they decided to move around a lot! No, you arent hurting her, she is just moving around and trying to get comfortable since she is slowly running out of room to be comfortable.

When you are up and walking around, going about your daily activities, your movement rocks your baby to sleep. When you lay down and get still, your baby "wakes up" and then it is playtime. Myself and both of my sisters had this happen. Calm and little movement during the day and then at night, our bellies felt like a tater sack full of coons and possums afightin'. It is a very normal thing.

I experienced the same thing. Even after purchasing a new matress. It turned out she was just more active when I was still. if it gets to uncomfortable try walking around for a minute then laying down again.
