I mean think about this logically, would Lily really think that Sirius raising Harry in her absence be a GOOD idea?

Hmmm, that is a good question. Never thougth about that.
I dont' think they would of left Harry with Sirius if they thought him to be neglectful or anything. Little did they know what horrible thing would happen to them, and their best friend blamed for it.
He obviously would of been better off with Sirius if he wasn't in prison, then with the Dursley's.
Maybe she thought he would eventually settle down, or maybe not.

jk never mentioned sirius having a partner and usually a married couple are the godparents so it is possible that harry may have a godmother somewhere or that his parent thought best that only sirius take care of him. there might also be the possibility that the potters did make a plan for him to have a godmother but died before they could have told her.harrys parent could have made a plan to have sirius' spouse (if he did ever have one) be harrys godmother. lily was a mother she could of thought anything but i think she trusted sirius because she went to skool with him and harrys dad was a good friend to him. this is all just in my opinion tho

Sirius was a very close family friend to the Potters and once James' friends started being nice to Lily, she got to know and trust Sirius

Why not? James and Sirius were best of friends. As far as we know, Lily didn't have a "best" friend to give to Harry.

Plus, there could very well be one in book 7.

I gave up on getting pregnant as quickly as I have been given divorced. i'm approximately to resign on the Tigers (returned) because of the fact i don't think of they are going to win the WS interior the 30 years or so as that I certainly have left to stay. I hung directly to a marriage for 22 years because of the fact I had made a promise with my husband and with God to be married. regrettably i could not handle it anymore.

why? What would be the point to that? they trusted Sirius with their lives, so why wouldnt they trust Sirius with their child's life, too, and it's not like they accually thought that they would both die and leave Harry parentless. what made you think of that?

I agree with lauphablebunny. The way Serius is described in the books, I would definitely trust him. Besides, it just shows Lilly to be more realistic. People always think things (like premature d.eath) will never happen to them...

Uhm, I didn't know Harry had a godmother. Do you mean godfather?

Maybe he has ! The series isn't over yet, and maybe the God mother is not connected with the story.

Anyway, I'm glad there's no God mother. It would have sounded like Cinderella then!
