No. In this big wide universe, if we're the only things here, that would be sad!! I believe there are other things out there and they are waiting for us to evolve, or something before they will let us know they are there. If some other life form came to earth tomorrow, people would be sooo freaked out. Not only that, but what would the religous people think, or do? A lot of people's faith would go out the window...

No. But that depends on what you would be describing as "others". Other humans like us - then yes, we are probably the only ones. If you think of the age of the universe biiiiiiiillions of years old. Now think of how long the humans have existed. It's like a dot in the universe. The chance of having tho species that evolved the same way (with all the same events happening - weather, asteroids) on a planet that acts the same as earth and at the same time is unlikely. There are certainly LIFE but in what form...???

The chance that there are only organisms on earth and nowhere else is without a doubt, incredibly implausible. We know there are many solar systems much like our own in our galaxy, and there are countless galaxies in our universe. The chance that one other solar system in any given galaxy has a planet capable of sustaining life is not only possible but probable. A really good equation for computing the number of intelligent life is the Drake Equation http://www.activemind.com/Mysterious/Topics/SETI/drake_equation.html which was written by Frank Drake in 1961.

NO... the Universe is astronomically huge, the chances of the Earth being the only place where there is Life ... (is slim to none).
