With the economic growth of India and the increasing economic stability of China and Russia is it not time for Europe to unite under one banner to increase the enconomic and political power of the continent that once ruled the world? Or is the time of european supremacy over? If so should we turn to Russia, India, China or the US as the 'leaders of the free world'? (-a title that the US had apointed themselves for the last fifty years.)

The worst thing most of mainland Europe did was join the Euro Currency. Prices have been pushed up and individuality has been lost. There is no equality in the EU system and it is merely a case of the country who shouts loudest or causes the most problems who gets their way.

If we all joined with Russia, India and China, individuality would further decrease, more money would be wasted in the Super Europe Government, less would be achieved and the only people who would benefit would be the politicians.

The differences between cultures are too large to try to run things together, again look at EU, we have people from different countries trying to impose their rules on other cultures. What you will end up with is some countries doing as they are told and suffering under strict restrictions and others ignoring them prospering and being left alone.

The US is one way or another, a European superstate, but with a multi-cultural twist to play down the ugly history of colonial Europe. The aging continent is better off as a satellite number of states revolving around the US. The UK is one of the working examples that has so far survived the European dream or, shall I say, nightmare.

European superstate? Not in a million years. Why the hell would Great Britain want to shackle itself to what is effectively a modern manifestation of the Soviet Union? Time we got out of Europe. They need us far more than we need them. I'm all for European free trade, but not political and monetary union.

Its humorous you need to submit this question ,i changed into discussing this difficulty at the moment with my husband . I do bear in mind some 4 years in the past at an european convention many youngsters preserving banners which reported (u.s. you're the weakest link see you later) so there changed into hype on the difficulty. the in easy words draw decrease back is many eu countries are particularly adverse and u.s. isn't .with reference to the terror element , i cant see the individuals being afraid of Europe as they stay in a good cocoon of delusion. Very exciting question. Ivor Tony Blair isnt the PM of the united kingdom Wateva , insults only make it look like you're protesting too a lot

No! The EU has proved time and time again that it is a bunch of incompetent, fascist bureaucrats, and we do not want to be ruled by them. Our government at the moment may be incompetent and foolish, but at least we have a government here which is ours and ours alone. A larger government in Brussels would detach the UK from it's own politics, and not benefit anyone.

There is an European super state it is called the EU and there are plans for an asian version of the EU and an American version. I think the whole thing is scary. I don't like socialism and I don't like the ide of handing my country over to the likes of the EU and/or the UN
