along with mixing in some of the prospects that have been playing this year. I firmly believe they would be in front of the Mets this year and easily on the way to being a dynasty. They had Josh Beckett, Brad Penny, AJ Burnett, Mike Lowell, Derek Lee and I'm sure others I'm forgetting and add Josh Johnson, Scott Olson, Dan Uggla, Jeremy Hermida, and others to this roster and you have the NL East Champions for years to come. It's a shame no one down in Miami cares about this team.

haha why would Atlanta be 2nd if nothing changes with them? The only thing that changes is Marlins get their people back. I think they would be very dominate. They would pass Atlanta and it would be a back and forth battle with the Mets.

The Marlins would be a very good team and would be competing for the NL East title.

For the guy who asked why Atl over the Mets if nothing changed with them...
Addition through subtraction. The Braves look better because the Mets lose Delgado (a key figure in the offense). Just a guess, but that's prob what they were thinking.

The Marlins would also lose tens of millions of dollars if they kept the team together. In my opinion, the owners has a responsibility to field the best team possible, but also the right to turn a profit on his team. Everyone complains about the Yankees and the money they spend, but Steinbrenner has lost money for the last few years trying to build a winner. Not every owner is willing to lose money to field a winning team. It is hard to blame any owner that wishes to make a financial gain on their investment.

Even if they had just kept the players that they let go last year. With Willingham, Uggla, and the other rookies that are showing up, plus all that pitching, plus the great managing that Girardi is doing, they'd be right there with the Mets.

I think they would have had a dynasty hard to beat for years to come. Greed on the part of their owners has made them a second rate club. Too bad too. They would have been exciting to watch if they had not been dismantled as they have been.

Chow!!

They would be dominant. They have been playing good ball. My opinion is the final standing would be like this:

Fla 1st
Atl 2ND
Mets 3rd
Phil 4Th
Was 5Th

if the Marlins had even a portion of the players they have traded over the last few years, they would be a World Series challenger every year. if you want to pimp slap the owner of the Marlins, please go vote for him at
