I went to Afghanistan to work for the Canadian Military as a contract (just a silly little Canadian girl) and after a couple months we had an alarm go off because of a bunch of rockets being fired in at other embassies and bases. I was really scared, it made me realize where I was. I hope no one has to feel that, it is strange.

A ghost visited me over the period of a month or two. Appeared to me about 30 times. Strangely, the same time every night--give or take a minute or two. It was really strange, and not a product of my imagination.
I was too afraid to tell anyone about it growing up. Then a few years ago I happened to tell my family, was laughed at of course. Then a sister who was in the next bedroom to mine, was told about my ghost stories, and she started to cry, and told the rest of my family that she too had seen the visitor--but was too ashamed of the scorn she would face. No kidding.

Probably the scariest thing that ever happened to me was the day after I gave birth to my only child. In that moment I realized that even the smallest thing I could do wrong in his upbringing could probably screw up his life.
