I'm seeing all these dark green lush vining plants around ppl's homes which also have these huge (12 or more inches long) white tropical looking flowers! Any idea what they are?

The flowers I have seen are none of these! It is a large, seriously, probably 8-12 inch white flower on a dark green lush wine. It is round with large stamen in the middle. It quite actually looks like a huge (just the flower, not the leaves) morning glorey for the exception of the large stamen. Any more guesses? lol If not I give up.

Moonflowers?

Twelve inches sounds too big, but the rest of your identification fits the description of a moonflower. Do the flowers you are seeing open at night (moonflowers do)? If it is a moonflower, it is extremely fragrant.

Those are carnivorous plants. Keep small children and pets away from them.
