Emo is music not a person also don't drastically change your look because then people will think you are a poser.

First of all:
Get those "emo" side bangs...you can choose whether or not you want to chop it short (it looks a little more emo) or wear it long. Also, dye your hair black.
Wear skull (not CUTE skulls) clothing and big, baggy pants. (dark clothes also work...any thing dark and "mad/angry" looking. Checkered Vans also work.
Dark make-up and black nails can add to the look.
I am personally not a big fan of the "emo look" but it is your decision.
Remember to NEVER smile, talk softly, and always listen to the "emoish" music.
Hot Topic also has a TON of punk/emo clothing.

my friend likes emo so she'll answer:
emo is so stereotyped these days. its not all about cutting your wrists and wearing black all the times. if u look like that then ur automatically labeled that way. emo is music. so if u like emo music and punk music then cool u can be yourself and not CALL yourself emo and punk but u can think that i dont care. yeah.

I want to go emo/punk too
I cut my really short (Rebellion)
I did get a side bang with a cute curl
I wear Black and Red, Black and blue, or Black and Purple
with a black hoodi( u can try wutever color tho mines just black)
painted my nails Darker Brighter colors (dats my logic)
I DONT ACT DEPRESSED OR CUT!!!!
Wear emo style eyeliner with wutever color you have chosen for the day ( BLUE, RED, Purple, green, NEVER PINK, Never Orange, Or even white) for eyeshadow
Spiky hair for both emo and punk BUT STILL EMO BANGs

I suggest going to Hot Topic or Torrid and buys some shirts with skulls, band names, etc
Also paint your nails black and where a lot of black eyeliner lol
Gets some classic vans or consverse for shoes

Get your hair cut. Get bangs that are 1/2 inch long and you'll be emo for sure.

There is nothing worse than a pretty girl trying to be "emo". Be yourself and dont conform to what your friends or the world thinks is cool.

dont worry about looking like them..if you like wearing hollister or abercrombie stuff then wear it. i dont like it prefuribally. just dress like you want to dress..try not to label yourself
