Assuming that you have followed the directions in the setup network connections, and you have the computers connected directly with a crossover cable or through a router with a cat 5 cable. Make sure the firewall is off, on both computers. Right click the folder that you want shared. Select "sharing" Under network shairing and security, select the Share this folder on the network. Type in the "Shared Name" click apply and OK. On the computer that you want to access, at the top of the screen in the windows menu, select Tools, and Map network drive Type the name of the computer, and the "shared name" Like this

\\FirstComputer'sName\SharedName

click next.

On the laptop, right click the start, select explore. In my network places you want to click "Entire network" and then " Microsoft Windows Network" Then MSHOME. (the workgroupname).

If you still cant see the other computer then, click Tools Map Network Drive, on the laptop this time. And enter the Path you entered above. The name of the Pc your looking for. with the shared name.

\\FirstComputer'sName\SharedName

Don't confuse the folder name with the shared name.

Map the first computer to itself, and the second computer to the same place.
