You are supposed to clean their mouths, so this is a good questions. All's you need to do is use a baby washcloth with some warm water and gently cleanse their gums. It is recommended that you do this everyday. Even though a baby does not have teeth, the bacteria that goes in their mouth can still affect their teeth.

wait a minute, what do you mean? If there is like a coat on the tongue, you probably need to take him to the doctor. Probably has what they call thrush, unless maybe he got a hold to a bottle of milk that was too warm. Nothing really serious though. Other than that you shouldn't have to clean a baby's mouth out. It's probably when they get 2 0r 3 when you 'll have to get the soap out! lol

My baby's pediatrician told me about this stuff called tooth and gum oraljel. He said you should clean their mouths out do to rotting milk, The tooth and gum orajel has a little finger brush and a bottle of orajel toothpaste that is very safe for baby to swallow.
The rotting milk film in their mouth can cause vomiting, allergies, and infection. You can pick Up THE TOOTH AND GUM ORAJEL in any store. In the med aisle. Or you can go to Target which has it usually on the baby Aisle.
Or if they aren't on those aisles then try the tooth brush aisle, or tooth paste aisle.if you still have a problem then ask someone to help you locate it.

Since you are supposed to clean their gums, they make finger toothbrushes you can usually find them in the baby section or with the childrens toothbrushes just put it on your index finger and they have little bristles to clean the gums or just use a damp clean washcloth and rub it over their gums. At this point, no toothpaste is needed, just water, they are supposed to be cleaned though and your pediatrician can tell you that.

You don't need to clean a baby's mouth until at least one tooth has come through, this is why all baby bottles should be sterilised.
It is not harming your baby or her mouth so set your mind at rest & do not worry.

Not sure I understand the purpose of your question. Why would you want to do that? Babies don't need their mouth cleaning.
If you mean on the outside, cooled boiled water or baby wipes (with no alcohol in them).

Their mouths aren't as dirty as you think. They don't have teeth and they don't eat solid food so there's really no way for their mouths to be dirty. Just let the baby be and don't worry about it.
