By the way, it will only be me and DH, no kids.

And we live in Connecticut so it is relatively close, no need to fly.

We have two weeks to spare.

We are in our 30's.

Any good suggestions on what we should not miss there? (If there is anything.....?) I've never been interested in going there because it just seems kind of boring from what I know about it. Please enlighten me, if it is a nice vacation place.

Thanks!

Is money an object? If no, then I would not spend two weeks in Maine; in fact, if it is that close to you, then I think it only deserves a weekend getaway at the most.

If money is an object, then I would still explore other options. Your two weeks vacation time are far too precious to waste on something that you're not excited about.

If it is possible, then I would take a train to NYC and fly out of JFK. There are so many super cheap international fares these days on the internet, and the cheapest are always out of New York.

I live in NH about 1 mile from the Maine border in the seacoast. I love vacationing in Maine. Why? Because there is nothing to do! If you're looking for a vacation that will provide you with lots of free time to de-stress and relax, then Maine is the place to go. I frequent the towns of Damariscotta, Pemaquid, Camden, and Wiscasset (mapquest them). There are lots of nice B&B's if that is your thing...if not, then don't go there - you'll be bored to death.

you aren't indterested in going to maine, so why are you asking if you should go to maine? if you like the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, sailing, ocean, mountains, white water rafting, great food, kayaking, canoeing, golf (Sugarloaf has one of the top golf courses in the country) wildlife, relaxing on a deck over looking a moutnain or a lake or the ocean, walking the beach, lighthouses, museums, quaint villages, moose, etc...you will love maine. if you are a big city person and rely on lights and crowds and lots and lots of of big city type of entertainment, you are right, you would be bored stiff in maine. if you are the type to be able to rely on yourself for activity, like hiking and stuff, you will love maine.

no billboards, no neon signs, and the streeets close up at 1am. but the ocean and mountains stay open 24/7 but someone said it right, flatlanders aren't welcome specailly mass, new york, new jersey and connecticut.

visit petsmart and purchase a automatic fish feeder. you placed the nutrients right into slightly field that sits on the fringe of your tank and also you'll replace the settings on it to feed them daily. Its very neat and saves acquaintances from having to go back over and guard your fish.

There is absolutely nothing to do in maine unless you're 65 years old.
