I am a disable man who lives on SSI, I want to get a house one day, but my wife and I only bring in $1500 a month. Does anyone know any programs for people with disabilty to obtain housing or to buy a house.

You can always to what the "Red Paper Clip" guy did and barter your way from something seemingly worthless to a house via craigslist (http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/). ;)
Seriously though, I don't think there are any programs out there that will give a free house or condo to low income families. You're best bet is to check out HUD (http://www.hud.gov) and your state and local affordable housing agencies (if your state/local government has one) to see what possibilities exist for home ownership for low income households. Most of these programs require some sort of payment; however, the price of the home is based on your your ability to pay (as established by HUD or the affordable housing agency) and not the real estate market.

Check with your local city or county city planner to see if they have any programs. You can also check at the state level to find out if they have any programs as well. Federal level has www.hud.gov.
If you want to move to Shasta, UT I just found a home 2bd/2bath condo for 4K. Crazy but true yet I dont know about the geographical area. Friend sent me the information.

I don't think there are any programs like that try habitat for humanity I don't know how they work but I hear they help people in need.
