I saw 1 recently in Fargo North Dakota. It wasnt anything major but it looked cool to me, all the clouds making a huge funnel in the sky, and the wind blowing very hard. Where I live we dont get tornados so that was verry exciting for me...

I've seen one, but it didn't come close enough to damage my house. But it was pretty close. A block away.

It was extremely scary. I've always been scared of things that come at you from behind, or even from the front, and hit you. Flying debri is the most common reason for deaths in tornadoes, and that didn't help.

If at the right speed, tornadoes can fling pieces of wood straight through cement walls with ease, barely slowing down, and can pierce you through the stomach, head, anywhere!

I thought that if I knew more about tornadoes, I wouldn't feel as scared of them. I was wrong. I was MORE scared of them, because I KNEW what they could do!

Lesson of the matter-- don't listen to your mother or father about how "the more you know the less you'll be afraid". It's NOT true!

I also once heard about a man who was in the eye of a tornado, and lived through it. He looked UP a tornado! I found that amazing. Imagine what he must've seen.

Like someone else has alredy said, I saw one start to form then left because it was a little too close for comfort. I've been in my house once and the wind was going in different directions on both sides. One passed right over a highway when I was living in a trailer.

My friends have a really great story about out running a tornado, going 90 miles an hour over a bridge, actually seing it. They all survived, but as they were going back a bridge and a building nearby wre SEVERELY damaged. Lucky they made it!
