"Have you ever been kissed under the mistletoe?"

superbooks.org ANSWERS:

Actually, I can't say that I remember -back when I was younger as far as mistletoe goes. Perhaps in the more recent years it might have happened once, but no details for now.

ABOUT MISTLETOE and being kissedunder the mistletoe.

It would seem that this traditon was made up by someone who was never kissed . I mean , how silly is this that you need a certain type of plant in order to kiss a boy or girl or man or woman?

If you are a loving giving caring person who has a boyfriend or girlfriend then they will kiss you without your needing to be under a certain type of plant or flower.

If you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend or wife or husband , then you don't want to go around kissing strangers anyway , correct?

If you know someone who is carrying mistletoe with them in order to kiss people, you need to really watch out for someone like that because, Honey , there is something wrong in Denmark (that's just an expression, means "beware" ) .

Kissing is a very romantic and sensual thing that you can and would do with someone that you love and with someone that you are committed to or are engaged to or married to. So, kissing strangers is no great accomplishment correct?

Well, strangers have diseases, and strangers could be ANYONE. Could you imagine being at a Christmas party with Jeffrey Duahmer or Son of Sam or wtih Manson? Woudl a piece of mistletoe make you want to kiss these guys? Would you kiss Saddam just because he has mistletoe in his pocket?

Seriously, think about the concept of kissing under the mistletoe. I don't know who made the silly thing up, but I'm sure that a lot of non-thinking people may have gotten into big trouble by sharing kisses only for a piece of green plant.

YOUR KISSING is a very valuable thing. It's special and it's YOURS, and you own it . Therefore, you shouldn't be bribed or pressured into kissing ANYONE just because there is a peice of green plant hanging in a doorway.

I believe that parents should teach their children the difference between myth and real life so their children will grow up strong and grow up having their own minds and so that their children, when pressured by society with silly rules and silly myths, will be able to withstand the pressure and make the correct decisions for their own lives.

To be clear, I'm not saying that kissing under mistletoe is a bad thing, what I'm saying is that PRESSURING someone to kiss under the mistletoe --THAT"S the bad thing.

So, if you come across a man or woman who insists that the rule is that you MUST kiss them because of this plant or because of this myth or tradition, RUN to the hills.

You want to be with strong, healthy people, not with people who rely on botannicals in order to get kisses.

KISS under the mistletoe and out of the mistletoe ONLY those who you would be kissing anyway. That's a safe , secure and healthy rule on how to kiss under the mistletoe.

The bottom line is NEVER let anyone pressure you into doing what you dont' want to do Tha't's the key here.

It's not about a plant, it's about control . It's about taking conrol of your life, even during holidays, even under the mistletoe, and even when OTHER people think you should be kissing someone that you do NOT want to kiss.

Have you unwillingly kissed someone under the mistletoe just because of that silly old plant and tradition?

Have a mistletoe-free peaceful day and a happy holiday season.
