Technology has increased our bandwidth to communicate, expanded our community in which we can communicate, but if we only ask meaningless questions what good is it? And has technology made us so lazy that we no longer search for the meaningful questions?

If we only asked meaningless questions, regardless of the medium, I think that society would just come to a screeching halt. If you just take the time to look through these boards, however, I think you would find that many of the questions are quite meaningful.
I think that we have come to rely on technology far too much. If we forget how to take care of ourselves without technological help, we become helpless. Witness the chaos and confusion with the power outages and heat waves taking place in Northeast USA and elsewhere.
Technology has not harmed us, per se. Our willingness to rely on it to the exclusion of self-sufficiency has.

I don’t think there is a meaningless question. All questions have merit, unless the motive behind the question is not for knowledge but rather for a show of superiority (you know the type of questions I am talking about). As for tech bringing us closer I think that is in a way much better. Just think of all the people that had the same type of ideas as did the Wright Brothers. What if all of them were able to communicate with each other, share their ideas, where do you think we would be today? Or when Albert was working on E=mc2, what if he was able to e-mail others or have a blog, or an online forum to discuss his ideas with others and others with him…

Technology aids in the enhancement of human existence if used correctly. It can also be a tool to destroy our being. The important question, to me at least, would be what technology is hurting our existence? Lumping all technology together is a mistake.

It connects us in a way... and this is natural, as I see it... all is changing and needs technology to do so...

but it will be gotten rid of when necessary

by the way: we've only been warming up with regard to technology, now is when it really begins
